Open Procedure positions for "Modernization of the railway sector in September - Plovdiv"
In February 2011 committee appointed by the chief director of DP NRIC, opened bids on the project "Modernization of the railway sector in September - Plovdiv - part of the Trans-European railway network.”.
Object of the contract is: "Modernisation of the railway sector in September - Plovdiv, in lots as follows:
Lot 1 - Modernization of the railway section September-Pazardzhik, including stations in September and Pazardzhik.
Lot 2 - Modernisation of the railway section-Pazardzhik Stamboliyski, including stations Ognyanovo and Stamboliyski.
Lot 3 - Modernization of the railway section Stamboliyski - Plovdiv, including  station Todor Kableshkov.
Candidates may attend both for the entire order and for each of the lots, but only at full volume.
Modernization of the railway sector in September - Plovdiv is part of the Trans-European rail network and is determined by the need that the railway track should  be brought to compliance with the requirements to the Trans-European railway lines and as some of them to meet the requirements for interoperability of railway infrastructure. Achieving this interoperability, and speed of 160 km / h is the main goal of the project.
The project has an indicative budget of 359 million BGN of which 76.5% grants from the Cohesion Fund of the European Union and 23.5% of the national budget.
The contract covers the design of the works and their implementation for each lot.
Railway September – Plovdiv is part of TINA network and Pan – European transport corridor  VІІІ. The double existing electrified railway September – Plovdiv is with length of 53 km.
The requirement for the construction of railways, which will develop high speed  of  the trains, will eliminate all existing level crossings on the line and crossing the line with roadways is going to be through overpasses or tunnels
The project will be financed by the EU Cohesion Fund under Priority axis 1 of Operational Programme Transport 2007 – 2013. Managing authority of Operational Programme "Transport” is the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology DP NRIC is a beneficiary of the project.
The project will contribute to the commitments of Bulgaria for the development of railway infrastructure, achievement of European standards in line with EU policy and sustainable development of trans-european transport networks.
